Stem Cells May Repair Breast Cancer Damage

Angela Brooks

A new reconstructive surgery technique is being studied by British physicians, potentially offering a new reconstructive option to the more than 31,000 British women per year who undergo operations where a portion of the breast is removed in the treatment of early-stage breast cancer. The procedure utilizes the natural stem cells that exist within the fat tissue of the body to repair any defects of the breast.
